SharpIron Athletics is excited to be bringing back our IronTribe Youth program as we move from the end of summer into a much-anticipated and unique 2020-2021 school year.
This program is for 9-12 year olds. There will be 7 classes held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30am-11:15am. The first class will be on Thursday 7/23, and the final class will be on 8/13. The cost will be $79 for the session.
The focus will be improving physical literacy via ten general skills of fitness: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. Kids will walk away with increased confidence in an ability to master challenging and fun movements.
We’ve all seen a decrease in activity of our area youth this spring and summer. Let’s not let this become a habit – get them moving in a way that’s safe and fun, AND get them off the couch (and Fortnite!). Kids who have a chance to try something new in a safe and challenging environment and have the opportunity to fail, try again, and be accepted into a group (our “IronTribe”), are more adaptive and able to cope with the ever-present stress of a fast-paced and changing world. Now more than ever, our youth need these opportunities.
If your kiddo or one you know is an athlete, this is a great way to build up a strong athletic base of general fitness that will transfer over beautifully to any sport! And if team sports have never been a thing for your child, you’ll be glad to know there are options such as our fitness classes that will prepare your youth for a lifetime of safe and healthy activity and include a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition.
The maximum number of attendees for this program is 10 kids with a minimum of 4. Reserve your spot today!
Please click here to register, or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 217-273-3777 for more information. If the interest is there, we will look at continuing our program as an option for kids doing remote learning to remain physically active and engaged as they take on schoolwork in a new way. Stay safe, have fun, and we hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer!
