We are coming up on the 2 week mark of our nutrition challenge this weekend. The excitement of the seminar and new knowledge has sunk in, the first week of meal prepping, getting our shopping list, and trying new things has passed. Its not just a 3 day or 2 week fad. We are working to make long term change! Same within the gym, when many started CrossFit, there was the excitement of the one on one training learning new things about your body; you didn’t know you were capable of. Then the start of group classes and the new found community and energy that provided. After a few weeks though it seemed routine, show up, hang out with friends, work hard, sweat a lot, go home, eat clean, go to bed. Repeat the next day. The newness had worn off. But has it… even after lifting and being around CrossFit for over two years I still try and find the new and exciting of hitting a new PR on a workout, seeing new faces in the gym that I know are experiencing that SUPER NEW excitement and maybe a little anxiety. I love that everyday we come to workout its still something different, I find happiness in trying new recipes and finding healthy alternatives; feeling good when I eat good, and understanding why I feel bad when I reach for the junk food! Focus on remembering that new feeling this week, find the new in workouts, keep finding the new in nutrition and each week you show up, eat good, and smile as much as you sweat, you feel good and start to see the new and exciting thats going on around you! Keep crushing it!
